I know magpies aren’t everyone’s favourite bird but I happen to love them. They are intelligent like all the crow family. Survival can mean that they appear cruel to other species of bird but they have all lived successfully together for thousands of years despite this. There is no sorrow for me when I see a magpie, I marvel at their beauty and the irredescent greens and blues visible in their wonderful plumage.
