This canvas is a bit bigger than I usually use but I felt that this stag needed to be bold. The image comes from a photo that was sent to me. Watch out friends because the image may become this year’s Christmas card, that’s if I fail to produce anything more appropriate.

I have discovered Daler and Rowney ‘artist’ pre-stretched  box canvas and I love them. The canvas is tight and bounces when you paint. I liked them so much I bought a boat load of various sizes. Now I can have fun covering them. I don’t know if this stag is quite finished yet but that is not unusual for me. I find paintings so easy to begin but very difficult to finish.
